Houdek/Huemer

Houdek/Huemer: Acarophobes, architecture nostalgics, Heidi Klum and others was an exhibition presented the new works by painters Vladimír Houdek (CZ) and Markus Huemer (AT). Since an architecture was the theme of both painters in their works, their main source of inspiration here was the brutalist architecture of the embassy building of the Czech Republic in Berlin. For the exhibition I was asked to produce a signage, catalog and support images for online marketing.

Combination of two typefaces, a grotesque sans-serif, Akzidenz Grotesk and a handmade calligraphic typeface, Ogg, brings contrast and dynamic feel.
Use of modular grid on the layout of the book gives catalog a structure but also flexibility in a information hierarchy.
Small but elegant, the catalog that compliments the exhibition is quiet and subdued, allowing the work to speak for itself.
